Caluna trekked her way through the trees with a clever mind to stay out of site of humans. She chose her steps carefully until she caught the familiar scent of a human residance nearby. Curious, Caluna advanced more cautiously than she had been. She peered through a patch of bushes with careful eyes and stared wonderingly at the building before her. Caluna was not like any wolf in the normal sense. She was curious, not afraid, but bold. She snorted. It was a mere cottage. Caluna would find something to eat soon...She was hungry. She had taken food from humans before, with the skills of a night hunter. Caluna licked her chops at the mere thought of food and sat down on her haunches to see if maybe she could spot food lying around somewhere.

It had been a couple nights since Bree had been home, and the young girl made her residence upon the recently abandoned cottage. Of course, the wilderness had already started to take over the place, as well as other deserters who rampaged and violated each room, but Bree was smart enough to bring her own supplies to last her until she reached the city. Or anywhere, as long as it wasn't her mother's house. Bree straightened her posture are she sat upon the couch, then rummaged through her backpack for a granola bar. As her fingers danced around the contents of her bag, she grasped a hold of the snack and devoured it quickly. Bree only had three bars left, and that would be it until another source was found.

Calunas ears perked when she thought she may have heard a noise from inside the building. Curious as she was, Bree dared to approached until she was on the side when humans usually entered or left the shelter. Keeping quiet, she poked her head in but only her head. She watched as a young pup, Calunas term for young two-legged humans pulled something out of her...Caluna didn't know what it was...And ate whatever she pulled from it. Caluna could smell sweet flavors, drawing her into the shelter. She stood in the doorway, watching as the girl ate her fill. She let out a woof without her permission, but her curiosity her her right mind.

Bree heaved out a sigh and buried her head into her palms as her mind unraveled in confusion and worry; it had been a mistake to come. Now she was lost, no family, and on the brink of starving. A bark had startled her and her heart pounded against her chest, and her head slowly lifted from her palms. As her view increased, her eyes fixed upon a canine creature at the doorway. It didn't look threatening, but Bree was smarter than to judge an animal's behavior by appearance. It was wild, and all wild creatures had a wild side, and anything could cause that wild side to reach the surface. Slowly turn to her right, she slipped one hand into her bag and pulled out another one of her remaining granola bars. She tore off the plastic wrapping, broke off a chunk, and tossed it to the animal as a way to gain it's trust before it attacked her.

Caluna watched as the human girl stated at her presence. At first she thought the girl would confront her and a low growl sounded in her throat as a warning. But the girl, instead, she reached into her...Caluna still didn't know what it was...And pulled out the very some substance Caluna had seen her devour before. A piece was tossed to Caluna, who backed off, thinking it probably was something to hurt her. She was curious, but she was also smart and instinctive. She eyed the girl questioningly before lowering to her belly and inching forward. The smell and taste of the chunk made Caluna's tongue crave more. She swallowed it whole and licked her maw before baring her fangs slightly in a pleasing way. Snorting, she dared approach for more, this time with more confidence. Placing massive paws on the child's legs, she nosed what was left of the cheat.
